Our stay at Fairchild House was great. The beds were fresh and comfortable, with new sheets of high quality. It was an amazing experience to stay in a vintage antebellum home. I especially appreciated the marble fireplace and the sliding window access to the balcony. I loved this place. The location - one block from St. Charles Street and the... more

My overall experience of the Fairchild B&B was positive. I disagree entirely with the reviews complaining about uncomfortable beds and horrible furniture. Whilst there was some cracked paint around the windows and the odd architectural crack here and there, as a European I am well used to and value older properties and their idiosyncrasies. If you want everything to be... more

Good location in the Garden District. Closer to French Quarter than the Hampton Garden District hotel. Has the feel of your grandmoms. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. Relaxed neighborhood. Off street free secure parking. One block from trolley. If you want very upscale B&B this is not it BUT I would recommend to my friends and family. $75 in... more

So my wife and I stayed here along with our cousins and it was the bees knees! The location was perfect as it was outside of the hustle and bustle of the french quarter, yet easy access to the trolley car to take you anywhere. The location was perfect. The rooms were very cute and had a ton of character.... more

We had a very nice time at the Fairchild House. We rented 3 rooms for 2 nights over the 4th of July so we could spend the holiday with our sons and their wives. The inn keeper was delightful and extremely helpful to us. The houses are very old - pre civil war,and filled with lovely antiques. She is constantly... more

My friend and I stayed two nights at the Fairchild House this past weekend for the Essence Festival, and we loved it!! It reminded us both of our grandmother's houses growing up. We particuarly liked the porch. We both took pictures rocking in the rocking chairs. It was a very charming, quaint bed & breakfast. We were given keys to... more

My husband and I were supposed to stay at Fairchild for three nights at the beginning of April, 2005. I had read all the previous reviews, and decided that the negative reviews were answered well by the owner, and I thought that we should give it a shot. Plus, the pictures of the house on the website were very nice,... more

Stayed at the Fairchild house for 2 nights and found it to be delightful. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the company outstanding! I was there for a special event and it was absolutely delightful. If you are planning a small wedding or party (i believe there were approximately 40 people in attendance) i highly reccomend the Fairchild... more

The staff is definitely the best asset. We found them to be most helpful. David was very knowledgable about the area. Rose was ready with breakfast, and always pleasent. Although some updates could be made.(We had a lumpy mattress) I would stay again, it was convenient to the trolly line, to the interstate, and several restaurants. Clean and cozy. more

we stayed in the fairchild house for 9 nights, oct 18. we found it a very nice place, beautiful decorated, quiet part of the city (if you compare with the noise in the high priced french quarter!). Beatriz does here job very well: it's allways nice talking to her and she gives you a lot of information. She also makes... more
