I wish I had not taken word of the few good reviews that were posted. I should have known better being a travel agent. I booked this based on price and location. If you do not get anything else from this review, get this - you get what you pay for! This hotel is horrible! Here is a list of... more

The St. Helene has a great location, and the potential to be charming, quaint and romantic. But, it is the worst kept hotel I've ever visited. The room was dirty, drapes falling off the windows, stained comforter, upholstered furniture torn, bathtub disgusting, horrible bed linens ... ruined our trip. We couldn't stand the thought of going back to the room.... more

Great location about 2 blocks away from bourbon street and a few blocks away from the shopping district. I walked in and reserved a room on a weekend and it was the best value. This hotel served its purpose if you're just wanting to party you wouldnt worry about little knick knacks the hotel needs to improve on.They do need... more

We stayed here for Mardi Gras and it was wonderful. We were booking our hotel a little late in the game, and this was the cheapest hotel I could find online (seriously--I mean the one with the absolute LOWEST rate) in the French Quarter, but it looked so cute in the pictures. And it was! (How often does it happen... more

We stayed in one of the third floor front balcony rooms. We enjoyed the balcony greatly. We can not say the same for overall situation. I can only assure the reader we were polite at all times in dealing with the personnel, though on a couple of occaisions they were less than gracious to us. PROBLEM (1) On a three... more

I am a budget traveler, the price was right so I booked however upon making my reservations at this hotel I discovered many bad comments about the property. I called and talked to the gentleman on duty. He was very polite and assured my room was a nice one. I arrived and I was pleasantly surprised. My room was not... more

We just returned from a wonderful weekend in NO..... We were hesitant to stay at St Helene when reading previous reviews, I have come to the conclusion that people love to complain..... Hotel St Helene is a quaint & charming hotel in the quarter with lots of New Orleans charm, great courtyard & staff. Thanks to Leslie, Johnette, Orlando and... more

We stayed here in mid February of this year. The hotel is not great, the rooms are small with a musty odor. The carpets are filthy, our TV in our room didn't work. and some others we spoke to who were also staying at the hotel had problems with the heating/air conditioning in their rooms. Sometimes our room was not... more

I recently stayed at the Hotel St Helene in New Orleans as part of a fun weekend. This is the kind of hotel you want to stay in if you are looking for great location (in the middle of the quarter) with a Big Easy feel. I would not recommend bringing your laptop or other personal, expensive items into the... more

The people at the hotel were very helpful and nice. I met two of my buddies down there from for mardi gras celebrations. I read other peoples reviews after I had already purchased the room so I was a little nervious. The room wasent that big but it worked for us. whenever we needed towels the maid brought them right... more
