I booked a room at Historic French Market Inn for July 4th weekend in APRIL, thinking that booking three months out from a major festival weekend would ensure us a decent room at a decent price. Two days before we were scheduled to arrive I called the front desk to confirm our reservation. The front desk person looked up our... more

I stayed at this hotel during the American Diabetes Conference in New Orleans this month (June 2009). This is probably the worse hotel I have stayed at in some time. I had a hard time opening and closing my hotel room door (jamed), the lights were burned out in my room, the first morning (stayed for 3 days) there was... more

The hotel appeared to be very quaint and in a great location. The rooms were a very major disappointment and the carpet extremely dirty. The bed spreads had cigarette holes in them . I asked for a roll away bed which they offer in the book in the room but none of the staff had ever heard of roll away... more

Ideally located in the heart of the French Quarter, this hotel is spread between several buildings arranged around an attractive courtyard and at around $100 for a double room per night, it's alright value. On arrival, the hotel felt generally quite grubby and poorly maintained, and the first room they issued to us was windowless and next to the lift... more

Let's start with what i liked: the size of the rooms, the price and the location. Everywhere you wanna go in the french quarter in just a few minutes walking distance, Bourbon Street, Jackson Squaere , Natchez boa etct. But there were also thinks i didn't like about the hotel: the rooms could have been cleaner (the towels had a... more

I was a little worried after reading past reviews of this hotel. And there is some truth to some of the claims; however, overall, this hotel met my needs just fine. Remember, it is in a building that is 200 years old, and, on one hand, makes it very charming and provides great New Orleans "atmosphere." On the other hand,... more

This has to be the worst experience we have ever had with a customer service oriented business. As far as the filth, 100% accurate. Upon check in the hotel seemed charming. Fast forward... When we opened the door to our room our first reaction was to laugh and then sigh in despair. We had traveled over 7 hours to reach... more

I was extremely nervous about staying here after reading the numerous negative reviews, but this place was perfectly fine. I never saw a roach or a rat and the front desk personnel were extremely nice and accommodating. I recommend asking for a room with a window. My boyfriend and I did and were upgraded for free to a King Deluxe... more

My friend and I discovered the Historic French Market Inn by chance. We were so pleased with the service and our overall experience, I felt it necessary to recommend this spot to any seasoned traveler who knows a good spot to rest their weary traveling bones. This is an older building set in the heart of the city. If you... more

I never stay at hotels without checking them out first...until this one. Never received confirmation for my King Size room w/balcony. When we arrived, the "vallet/bellman" was no where to be found.Once the desk clerk emerged after waiting 15 min. She couldn't find our reservation but would put us up at another property "around the corner". We had to drag... more
