The Hilton is magnificently located and appointed. The check-in is a little confusing - hidden away on the second floor. Room very nice, comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. Starbucks quick breakfast on 2nd floor very convenient for conventioneers. BUT it is MUCH TOO EXPENSIVE for what they give you, $270 per night is outrageous. Perfectly ok in an 80s sort of way; uninspired, uninteresting and little or no good stuff comes with the room-- no free internet, no breakfast, there is a coffee/tea machine, no robes. The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is on the river (with easy access to the Riverwalk shops and restaurants as well as a riverboat), near street car lines, near the casino, and an easy walk to the French Quarter. I paid $260/night (one king size bed) to stay at this hotel during a convention. For that price, I was rather shocked when neither breakfast nor internet was included in the price since certainly one could stay at a more moderately priced hotel (e.g. Holiday Inn, etc.) and expect such services to be included.
