We found this hotel on Trip Advisor looking for somewhere affordable and safe near the convention center. We found that plus great service, a wonderful courtyard, and the arts district! The arts district is about 5 blocks long and starts about a block from the hotel. The French Quarter is a short walk away. We'd definitely stay there again. more

If you like hotels with some architectural interest - this is for you. Apparently the Courtyard was built in an old warehouse. The lobby is cool and the rooms have exposed old brick. Healthy hike to Bourbon street, but definately doable. As far as being on par with other Marriott's it runs on the low end. The staff is marginal, and room issues were never resolved. more
