My mother and I were in NOLA for a conference. The hotel is only two short blocks from the convention center, near a trolley that will take you to the French Quarter (for $1.25 exact change), and if you don't mind a little walk, the hotel isn't far from Canal Street. Overall our stay was comfortable. We decided on this... more
Was in New Orleans for a convention. Hotel was very close to the convention centre and a "safe" walk. Nothing fancy. Make sure to get a room facing the courtyard as outer rooms, those facing street, apparently are noisy. Outdoor pool was dirty - not sure if it was cleaned all week. Buffet breakfast was OK. Would stay there again. more
Not fancy but comfortable., nice remodelling of a warehouse. Away fron noisy french quarter, perfect for a good night´s rest. Got a room by the pool during no tourist season (march 20) but found the surroundings quiet too. Liked it a lot, stayed there with husband and two young children and everything was clean, quiet and good service. more
We arrived to find that the hotel had accepted people from the street into the parking garage and had no empty spaces for our vehicle. Not only this, but their was no parking for a mile. We ended up parking and then walking back. We checked in amidst a chaotic scene, tons of party goers (this was 4 pm) were... more
The Courtyard by Marriott Convention Center hotel on Julia Street in New Orleans has good rooms and a friendly staff but we couldn't sleep for the noise. Our room faced a street with a bar that played booming music and stayed open until 4 a.m. People were in the street, horns honking and police sirens occassionally. It was absolutely miserable.... more
Overall, this is a nice property. Off the beaten path, but close enough to the French Quarter and Harrah's for a reasonable price. The rooms were Courtyard standard with good sized bathrooms. The lobby was very cool with an mod-warehouse look. One major grip is that the hotel is hard to find. You have to drive partial through a parking... more
Just returned from New Orleans where I stayed at the Courtyard New Orleans Convention Center. The hotel was better than I expected. The room decor was art deco with an exposed brick wall, small television and large desk. The bed was a very comfortable foam mattress. The room was clean. I used the fitness center, nothing spectacular but adequate. Parking... more
I helped host a meeting at this hotel and that experience was a total nightmare!! The rooms themselves were okay - very modern, art deco and the bed was very comfortable but the meeting rooms and the service at this hotel left much to be desired. Even though we had breakfast planned to be brought out by 7:45am right as... more
This Courtyard by Marriott is just a block from Canal Street and the French Quarter. Since its on St. Charles Street, there is no self parking and valet parking is $23/night - which I though is a little high. The rooms are basic sized with all windows facing the interior area, so you don't have a view and the beds... more
