I recently attended a conference in New Orleans and my colleagues and I chose to stay at the Ambassador Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were hassled about our reservation. After a lenghty delay, we were given a smoking room (we are non-smokers and had requested and been confirmed with a non-smoking room). The room was not only dirty... more

It's all in the title. Towards the end of the day after my first night at the Ambassador, my left hand, bilateral upper arms, neck and a small part of my face were covered in raised red and intensely itchy bumps. They were firm to the touch and itched tremendously. I noticed areas where they were arranged in a line... more

The hotel was nice and cute. I really like the rooms because it was very different from the usual hotel. I would stay there again when traveling to New Orleans. It is in a great location to go to the Casino, Superdome, or French Quarters. There is a paid parking lot directly across the street from the hotel. There were... more

Stayed three nights at the Ambassador and had a great time. This is an old hotel with a lot of character, wood floors, high ceilings rodiron beds. The staff was very helpful and a great location for a bargin price. The French Quarter, Riverfront Mall, Harrahs Casino, Jackson Square are all just a short walk away. If you are looking... more

Went for a long weekend and the hotel was well worth the money paid. Good location...only about a 10-15 minute walk from the French Quarter. Surrounded by nice little restaurants and other unique locales in New Orleans. Very close to the WWII museum also. more

My wife and I traveled to New Orleans to be with some friends during their sons surgery at the Childrens Hospital. We had an early morning ahead of us (5am) so we got some dessert at the hotel restaurant and then retired to our room about 9:30 pm. After showering in a dirty bathroom that had someones hair in the... more

Our stay at the Ambassador was a gift for my boyfriend and my anniversary. From the website it looked great, New Orleans style decor, and close to everything we needed to get to. Good access to the Canal streetcar which was very handy for getting around. We got to the lobby where there was no one to help us with... more

Kellogs Kid and I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel from October 16 to 23, 2009, and he posted his review a few days ago. I feel compelled to write this review in fairness to the Hotel manager David Smith. This is the story of the bad, the good and the ugly: THE BAD: In addition to what the kid has... more

we stayed at the ambassador for 1 week in oct 2009. the pictures from the website are in no way representative of the real hotel. this is clearly a one star hotel (not 3 as is described). the room was very disappointing. there were cockroaches running on the bathroom walls. there were more roaches in the closet. we actually took... more

I stayed in this hotel for four nights. I chose it because of a great location and because it has rooms that allow smoking. The price per night looked like it would provide good value and I was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only problem is that they do need to give attention to details.... more
