After a disappointing stay at Hotel Don Tavo the night before, we checked in to the Hostal Brisas de California (a couple of hundred meters further along the road) on the 25th February 2009. We found this charming little place the day before while we were out walking and instantly regretted having booked into the Hotel Don Tavo.
On the main road is the restaurant, Loco Pollo, and behind it is the Hostal. You enter through a locked gate on the side street. Mariella and Efram(?) are the owners and they run the Hostal. The guest rooms are extremely secure. For a room with private bathroom, a double bed, a single bed and a television, we paid $20 a night. They also provide linen and towels. Guests also have a cooker and kitchen implements, and a fridge to use, and loads and loads of friendliness from the owners.
