Haus Sonnwend is a really excellent guesthouse. Large comfortable rooms and everything is simply spotless. Haus Sonnwend is the most perfect place to stay for anyone wanting to Ski or walk or even just enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Austrian Alps. Alpbach prides itself on the authentic chalets dripping with flowers (no neon) and its spectacular Alpine beauty. Haus Sonnwend is spotless, lovely and across the street from an excellent restaurant in a hotel. The hostess/owner speaks perfect English and was very pleasant and suggested some memorable hiking. Altogether a wonderful experience.

Our return visit to Haus Sonnwend was just as we remembered....a very warm welcome, a wonderful location in a great mountain village ....and an excellent breakfast (extra..but worth every penny). Haus Sonnwend is in a lovely position and higher rooms at the front overlook the Alpbach valley. Little to add to other reviews about the friendly, helpful owner Gitti for whom nothing is too much trouble. We absolutely love staying here. We come every year 2 or 3 times skiing and again in the summer for walking and cycling. Gitti is so nice and treats you like family. There are only good things to say and all of the other reviews already say them.
