Perhaps the most flexible hotel in Austria. Nothing is too much trouble.

We have stayed a few times. Late arrivals, having HB one day and nothing the next due to travel. Never a problem. Always fair and accommodating.

Rooms are cosy and have great views. Hot water is very good.

Food is good and plentiful.

All staff are just wonderful. A real pleasure to stay here.

Semmering is quite spread out and this hotel is right near the smaller of the 2 local ski hills. I prefer the other, which you can drive to in 5 minutes. If you have a car you can be in the Alps proper in a bit under 2 hours. Check out Tauplitz if you do. Top spot. Some of the best and steepest tree runs in the Alps. However, Semmering has some reasonable runs - both really long, good quality groomers and some good off-piste if you want to do some trekking. I think it is definitely the best of the spots until you hit the high Alps themselves.
