We loved this place, it was just what we needed at the end of a 9-week, 8,300 miles road trip this summer. An oasis of calm and beauty. The pool is lovely, the accommodation in cabins really great, very olde world. We only spent a night here but would spend longer in the future, given the circumstances. more

We had a one night stay here in August 2009 to break up a long drive from Vegas to SoCal Our accommodation was an adobe bungalow which looked charming from the outside However, inside we found it lacking and in need of some serious TLC ... especially in the bathroom where the sink was in need of replacement, the shower... more

We stayed in the West End Cottage. In is the furthest from the pool about 1/4 a mile. It was more than spacious with 2 rooms and a living room as well as a kitchen. It isn't ultra modern but it is charming and unique. It was very clean. We walked to the pool/ resturant and bar. If you do... more

We stayed here on a trip from Las Vegas to San Diego and really enjoyed the rustic charm of the room, the restaurant, and the grounds. If you are looking for the Ritz look elsewhere (but you are going to have a LONG drive to Joshua Tree National Park). The staff was very friendly and fulfilled every request we had.... more

A long time fan of the formerly special place, the new policy of advertising in some of the military publications has drawn in a small but rowdy percentage of young Marines who do not mix well with the peaceful, family freindly vibe. Don't get me wrong - I love a man in uniform - but paying bank for a desert... more

If you come to 29 Palms Inn looking for Palm Springs, you're off by about 50 miles and an hour's drive. This vintage, 1920s-generation inn next to the Oasis of Mara is a comfortable step back in time with only the modern conveniences that you probably need (i.e., good plumbing, hot water on demand, a ceiling fan and a comfortable... more

Plainly the only really good inn in the 29 Palms area (can't speak for the town of Joshua Tree or deeper into the desert), this is a knockout. Beautiful, a fun, hippy vibe, a great restaurant and bar, a decent pool, lovely cabins and adobe huts, and about a minute's drive from the Oasis entrance to the national park. You... more

We use to stay here a lot. But the service use to be poor. Except for Bill the reservationist. He's always great. We use to complain and complain about the restaurant service and innkeeper service so much we finally just gave up and ate somewhere else but stayed at the inn. Even with bad service it's an amazing experience. This... more

We stayed here a few years back and I never wrote much on it. 29 Palms is not much to write home about. Pizza hut and tattoo parlors. Okay. but the gems are the Joshua Tree park entrance and abundant hiking. Everyday we went into the park for a new adventure. Make sure you stop in advance at the Visitor's... more

Had stayed at the Inn before many years ago and was very impressed with it then. However, we never had the occasion to go back that direction again until last year (2008). This time we brought along a new addition, our pet schnauzer, and stayed at the Faultline where dogs are allowed. Our two-day stay was exceptional! The bed was... more
