Had booked to stay here on the last leg of my round the world trip in Jan 2009 (and only just go around to writing the review). It is a great location, very close to the airport and easy to get to the town centre or travel around the island from here (need a car). Fantastic views from the room... more

I have stayed at the Mango Sunset numerous times while traveling on the Big Island. Each time I have found Hans, Marsha and Karen to excellent hosts; a true asset to the travel and lodging industry. Their B&B is not only clean and sunny, but their care of their guests is outstanding. On my last visit I became ill while... more

We thought that we would try doing B & B on our holiday in Hawaii and found this lovely one on the internet. The booking was easy and travel directions were excellent. There are lots of house rules, but nothing too difficult. The breakfasts were very good, starting with fruit and juice and moving on to something cooked, washed down... more

For our first trip to the big island the location was excellent with perfect directions from the airport. We loved the elevation, cooler air, the quiet and lack of traffic. The rooms were adequate and clean. We enjoyed Hans" Coffee education- "Dr. Coffee" he is! His breakfasts of crepes, French toast with fruit and macadamia nuts were excellent. It was... more

A friend and I traveled to the big island recently and had a lovely time. The Mango Sunset was one of several places we stayed. It was very peaceful, comfortable and well run. We learned a lot about Kona coffee which was very interesting. The view was lovely and our room was comfortable. The food and of course the coffee... more

My husband and I stayed at Mango Sunset for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We even had breakfast with their very own "Fairy Princess". The rooms were comfortable and well furnished; nights were wonderful with the doorwall open to the porch and the cool breezes and complete quiet makings for a very good nights sleep. Hans, Marsha, and... more

Mango Sunset was a lovely place to spend our 2nd Honeymoon. The food was great, coffee fabulous, and we appreciated the tour of the farm. With the addition of the new master house, it will make the grounds even better. Location worked out great for us as it was close to everything we wanted to do. We could easily drive... more

My siblings and I (four of us) decided to vacation in Kona two nights; we enjoyed our stay at Mango Sunset B&B so much we extended another night. The B&B is so close to town but not right in town. Very convenient location. We also were taken on a personal tour of the coffee farm by Hans and he patiently... more

I am always slightly uneasy of returning to places that have given me happy memories for fear that things will have changed and I will feel let down. No such worry here however. Two years after my first visit I returned with my daughter to Mango Sunset in March 2009 staying a total of 9 nights. We had a most... more

The good: This is a nice B&B in a quiet location. It is up the Kona hillside and so cooler. Some evenings we didn't go out, but just bought fast food to warm in the microwave provided, and had a bottle of wine while watching the sunset. The hot breakfast was always good, and there was free internet in the... more
