We just got back from our stay in Kona, and one of the highlights was our b and b. The breakfast was excellent, homemade breads and plenty of fresh fruit, you can make your own omelet and on the second day we had crepes cooked for us by Ken, the owner. Beauitiful rain forest landscape lots of wildlife, turkeys, chickens,... more

A very wonderful place to spent some days of vacation! Location is great, but the atmosphere is gorgeous! Ken and Sue made us feel like at home. Very nice, polite and easy people. The breakfast is great and you can eat homemade bread and fresh eggs just sit down in the porch with music around and flowers and plants everywhere.... more

The stay here was absolutely fantastic! Ken and Sue and everyone else that worked and stayed there made it so homely and friendly and couldn't do enough to help us have the most amazing stay. It was peaceful and waking up to the most amazing breakfast with the most amazing views was awesome, I can not rate it highly enough.... more

I took my son in law and 7 month pregnant daughter to Hale Maluhia Country Inn for 4 days. We were all wowed by the ambiance, cleanliness, fantastic breakfasts, beautiful gardens and comfortable beds. The staff was helpful and friendly. It was delightful to watch the wildlife on the property including wild turkeys and several varieties of birds. Flowers were... more

We stayed at the Hale Maluhia Country Inn from August 12-15, 2008. We had flown to the big island a few days before and driven to the Volcano side, so we were pretty exhausted when we arrived. When we first got there, we checked into the Pikaki room. This is a private room away from the main house which wouldn't... more

Our stay in the Banyan cottage at the Hale Maluhia Country Inn was a highlight of a lifetime of travels. Our time there was truly a tonic for emotionally exhausted and harried mainlanders in search of old Hawaii and the meaning of aloha. The Banyan treehouse is a beautiful spacious wooden cottage with a unique combination of elegance and open... more

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Hawaii including a four night stay at the Hale Maluhia Country Inn. We stayed in the Makua room and it was lovely, with traditional Hawaiian decor and a very comfortable king size bed and air conditioning. The owners Ken and Sue were very friendly and helpful, as were the other employees... more

I wish we could give the accommodation a better review, because the owners are both very lovely people and the breakfast, complete with make-your-own-omelette station and fresh fruits, was delicious. The view from the breakfast lanai was also beautiful, and the property was lovely and wooded. However, the room that we stayed in, the Maile room, was gross. The industrial... more

Our Maile Room and been completely refurbished. New Carpeting, new furnishings, new linens and new paint. This guest was right, it was getting to look a little too much like Country. Way to go, Trip Advisor.

I was very comfortable during my stay at Hale Maluhia. Ken and Sue were wonderful hosts. I found it very relaxing to just hang around and enjoy the ambience. The Kona coffee early with a breakfast that was delicious with all the choices of fruit, cereal, homemade breads made my stay very enjoyable. In addition, I was able to cook... more
