I actually liked this hotel and its vintage decor. The elevator has a door that you have to open for access and you are issued real keys! No, it's not the Crown Plaza, but then again you're also not paying Crown Plaza prices. Directly across the street from Virginia Mason Medical Center so it was very convenient for our meetings... First I must say that you should not expect 5 star accommodations at 2 star prices. That being said, the Baroness is a lot of value for the price. If older hotels with iffy ventilation are not your thing, you might want to try something else. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms do have a lot of... More

It's really robbery what they charge per night for this place! I stayed here for a few nights while I was visiting family in the Virginia Mason hospital across the street. From the moment I walked into the room the place smelled like a cat peed all over the floor! I went to open the windows after gagging and discovered... More

The hotel is in an older building with the rooms being set up for a longer-term stay; as per the hospital being across the street. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. Complimentary body care items were great (citrus scented) and having a fridge in the room was great for keeping items in there. Its close (easy walking) to... More

Like the title says, the only good thing about this hotel is the staff. That's the only reason they didn't get the "terrible" rating from me. The entire place smelled musty and kinda makes you a bit sick to your stomach. No A/C so forget it if there is a slim chance Seattle has a warm evening. They give you... More

Visited a relative staying there during his wife's stay at Virginia Mason. The hospital is owned, apparently, by Virginia Mason. Can't believe it. It is like walking into a 1960's downtown cheap flop house. The appliances and furnishings are, seriously, out of the 60's. They still use bedspreads. During my visit there, I didn't even consider checking out the bathroom.... More

Stayed here because of the convenience of Virginia Mason Hospital next door. This is a very, very old place (I'm guessing built in the 1940s). While it was relatively clean and the bed was OK, the wall heater did not really work and we needed to get a space heater, the faucets in the bathroom wash basin either trickled water... More

We were four friends from Vancouver heading down to Seattle wanting to stay downtown and pay as little as possible for a clean, safe place to stay. The Baroness was perfect. The room was spacious, the staff was very friendly. The location was perfect! The room smelled a bit musty but the windows opened wide and it wasn't a major... More

We stayed at the Baroness Hotel for a medical visit for my mother and the staff was outstanding. April when above and beyond in her customer service skills and always had a smile on her face. The hotel is old but kept very clean and is in a good location for visits to three major Seattle hospitals. I would definately... More

The minute you step into the lobby you know this is going to be a different experience. The Baroness lobby is as old fashioned as it gets with a large fireplace and nice woodwork. The elevator is an experience. The door opens like a regular swinging door, and then it groans and creeks all the way to your floor. There... More
