My wife and I enjoy staying at B&B's because of the more friendly atmosphere than typically experienced at large, impersonal hotels. The Copper Whale was one of the better we have stayed at. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast/sitting room was large and comfortable and had excellent views. The breakfast was wonderful!... more

June 20, 2009 My husband & I stayed at the "Copper Whale",a lovely bed & breakfast in the heart of town, providing an extensive continental breakfast that was completely satisfying. It was just minutes from the Anchorage Airport. The airport is even decorated with Alaskan wildlife mounts. It is a small airport that is easy to navigate. We hooked up... more

The reviews say it all - this place is perfect. My husband and I arrived much later than expected (we slid off of the snowy road on the way down from Fairbanks), but we got to our room easily - no calilng a cell phone number and waiting around for someone to come open the office. The location is surprisingly... more

We stayed in both the new building and the original building (once a house) on separate nights, both coming in to and leaving Anchorage. The Inn is tucked in between high rises and is on a busy street but the advantage for a couple without a car is that it is in a perfect location! Snow City Cafe was one... more

My wife and I stayed at the Copper Inn on the last night of our Alaska vacation. We drove in from Talkeetna and did not have a reservation. We drove around downtown and considered one of the larger hotels, until we ran across the Copper Whale Inn. They had only one room left with two twin beds. While the twin... more

This B&B was very nice! We were able to walk everywhere from here! The room we had was small but comfortable. The breakfast was buffet style with some homemade goodies. The breakfast area was a good gathering space where we met other travelers. Our hosts made our dinner reservations and were very gracious! (We had dinner at Sachs....wonderful!) more

The moment we arrived, we were pampered... Fresh bananas, smiling faces... The view was a little over-rated in the other reviews but it is easy to walk to the bay and it is close to restaurants, shops, and the tourist attactions. (Anchorage is a suprisingly small town...) It was very easy to buy supplies that we needed, including camera equipment.... more

This was first day of vacation after very intense year and crazy week before departure. We loved the welcoming waterfall and flowers. There is a wonderful comfy shared liviing room with view of ocean and another waterfall with great water sounds. wonderful teas and cofffee are available 24/7 and fresh fruit--apricots, cherries and the usual oranges and bananas. We were... more

Well run with attentive staff. Excellent quality fruit at the continental breakfast. Lovely views of the inlet from dining room. We were in the adjacent lower building which has a separate secure entrance and its own refrigerator for restaurant leftovers, coffeemaker, microwave and sofa in the common area. Peaceful small pond/waterfall between buildings. Bike rentals outside the front door. Very... more

Lovely inn in a beautiful location. Clean, comfortable rooms. They went overboard to accommodate our unpredictable schedule and boy was it crazy and unpredictable. Very thoughtful of our needs. A definite stay for future visits to Anch. more
