We knew when we arrived at the Opera House that we would be getting more than we had bargained for. The place is beautiful, with a lush green lawn and stunning architecture. This is not your average Anchorage split-level home.
Danny, the host was home, and we knew we had chosen the right place. It was as if we were seeing an old friend when he greeted us at the door. He showed us to our room, and man, was it nice! They did an exceptional job of decorating. He invited us down for some drinks, and we talked with Dan and his wife, Candace for awhile. The bed was soooo comfy, we didn't want to get up. But we were glad we did....
As good as the bed was, the breakfast was even better. We had come in the day before from a sea-kayaking trip, and the first morning we were hungry as bears. The strawberry hotcakes just kept coming (he says he feeds everyone this much...), the eggs were perfect (I had 5!), the bacon and sausage, the fresh fruit, muffins, fresh ground coffee...
