Great B&B located in downtown Anchorage. We were there for seven nights and the location worked great for us as my wife had a meeting for several days in downtown Anchorage. Room was very comfortable, clean and well appointed. The host was very accommodating and friendly. Clean towels were available anytime. The sleeping rooms were upstairs and breakfast in the... more

We stayed here after our cruise, and this was our first B&B. The building was newer and beautiful with nice views toward the water. The room and private bath was a very nice size, and the owner was kind to allow a couple special requests we had. Location is very close to downtown and restaurants. (Make sure to call-in reservations... more

We stayed at The Sleeping Lady for 2 nights in early June 2007. Our party booked 2 rooms. Both were very clean, light, and comfortable. There was a common refrigerator available for our use, as well as a microwave and microwave popcorn, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. The rooms were quite large and totally adequate for our needs. Breakfast was... more

I stayed here in May 2007 when I was traveling on a business trip, but the conference hotel was booked. This B & B came with a high recommendation from a friend who lives in Anchorage and I definitely agree. As it turned out, my accomodations were much nicer than the chain hotels and I actually paid less. All my... more

We stayed at the Sleeping Lady for two nights, September 10th/11th 2006. Very central for downtown Achorage, and very quiet even though it was just off one of the main roads out of town. Great for easy walks to many of the downtown attractions, but a car needed if you want to go elsewhere (Anchorage straggles). Very nice room, with... more

Management response from

I would like to straighten out the false assumptions made on this review. Evidently the McManuses thought our place was a very nice facility, but just had some misconceptions about my actions. The McManuses had reservations to stay at our B&B for one night. They showed up a day early, unannounced, at our doorstep and wondered if they could check...

The Sleeping Lady is decorated with many special touches. I enjoyed just looking at the decor. My room was immaculate and the view of the water lovely and peaceful. Their deck is also a great place to relax. Plus, Rick is an amazing cook and the breakfasts were divine. Home backed coffee cakes and tasty eggs started my day off... more

Just returned from Alaska and while we were in Anchorage we stayed at the Sleeping Lady. We didn't stay consecutive nights so we ended up staying in two different rooms. Our first night Rick upgraded us from a non-view room to a view room. The room was quite large and decorated with really nice Alaskan art. We stayed in this... more

We stayed in the Sleeping Lady B & B for two nights in August 2005. Our host (Rick) was friendly and very helpful and informative regarding Alaska, Anchorage, and surrounding environs. We stayed in two different rooms on two different nights...both rooms were SPOTLESSLY clean, cozy, and comfortable with great views of the Cook Inlet. The inn is within walking... more

This is a beautiful B&B, walking distance to downtown Anchorage. The hosts are really friendly, helpful and nice. The food is abundant and tasty. The rooms are really nice and just like home. The hosts also have an upstairs area with snacks, water and a fridge for the guests. The entire home is gorgeous, we stayed for 3 nights and... more
