This large, three story hotel has a nice location if you want to see downtown Anchorage. The room was clean and fresh although some of the furnishings could use a rehab. Had a good coffee maker, nice couch and comfy king bed. There is a large indoor pool and a small exercise room. The nice restaurant is open for breakfast... more

The staff was very friendly but the room was the pits. the walls were very dirty and the rug looked like some one had overhaled an engine in there. It was to be a nonsmoking room adn the couch had burns in it and the room smelled of smoke. more

My friends and I were in Anchorage for a convention. I wished I would have read the reviews of the hotel before we made our reservations. I have stayed at other Howard Johnson hotels and they have all been nice places. The rooms were outdated and dirty. The carpet was torn and mold in areas around the tub. The coverings... more

I've stayed in this hotel in 2 ocasions on the end of August.09. In both ocasions, we felt that it is a fair hotel, although a bit expensive. The rooms are clean, and have everything needed to spend a confortable evening after a day's activity in Alaska. Reception staff could be nicer. more

This hotel was chosen to stay within a budget and it worked for my purposes. There were some seedy people outside the hotel, but I never felt threatened. The downtown location is this hotel's saving grace. The room was clean, dated decor, beds were comfortable enough. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant service slow, breakfast was delicious, especially... more

As for anything more than that, I can't really say much. The room itself was clean, but, the $179 I paid for the room was about $110 too much. At best, even for Alaska prices, this place isn't much more than a $60 a night flop joint. Old leaky hallways, tired decor, and old ratty things made us feel like... more

We stayed at this hotel one night after arriving in Anchorage late. The hotel itself is dated and worn. It took 10 minutes for the hot water to work in the room. The front counter staff was friendly and courteous. The major problem we had was the various disturbances throughout the night. There was a group of people fighting in... more

Unlike reputation of this hotel, our stay was not comfortable. The room is rather old and needs renovated. Staffs were not friendly at all and not customer-oriented. It is sad to say but I would not stay this hotel in the future. more

We wanted to find a hotel with an indoor pool, since it was supposed to rain that day. This was the cheapest and was right in the middle of downtown. Since we were coming from the other side of the city, we couldn't find it since there was no sign. Then, they did let us check in earlier than usual,... more
