I spent 3 nights at this hotel and hated every night. Anchorage was booked up because of a marathon--there was no place else in town. The rate of $119 a night was overpriced by about $119. This place sucks because it is 1) dirty, 2) has been abused & even recent updates are falling apart, 3) has rude front desk... more
Stay away from this hotel. It was very dirty and offered little comfort. The carpet was so soiled that no one in our group wanted to take off their shoes. There was no blackout shades in either of the bedrooms. There was no AC and the window screens had holes in them. We stuffed paper in the holes in order... more
I was here on business but arrived early so I chose the Sourdough for the first 5 nights because I did not not want to pay the rate on the other hotel my company booked for me. 119.00 a night with kitchen, not even a spoon to stir your coffee. If your home has peeling paint and really needs to be fixed up, than you might feel ok here. No dishes, no pans, even though you do have a kitchen. They say no smoking in the... more
We had a two bedroom "suite", which was really a shabby two bedroom apartment. The couch was so uncomfortable, you had to use your thin pillows from the bedroom to sit on it. The kitchen had no glasses. I'm glad we were there for only one night before our flight home. The only positive was a good restaurant recommendation (Smith... more
We recently stayed at the Sourdough because most of the "chain" accommodations were sold out during the time we came to Anchorage and we wanted guaranteed accommodations on the night of our late arrival. It took more than one hour for the shuttle bus to pick us up at the airport---not much fun after a 14-hour flight. When we finally... more
