We stayed at Les Carmes in mid-October after reading comments on Trip Advisor. No, they weren't all written members of the Parkes' family. This place is great. Accommodations were spacious, clean, quiet. Food was fabulous. Hospitality is 5 star. And.......the price was right. We would definitely stay there again. more

This was our first experience in the south of France, having not ventured further south than Brittany previously. We were not disappointed. 10 super days at Les Carmes near L'isle-sur-la Sorgue. A really relaxing holiday - Les Carmes is a beautiful, rustic, traditional Provencal home, where Ann & Mike make you extremely welcome. Nothing too much trouble. A typical day... more

We booked a stay at Les Carmes after reading all the splendid reviews at TA. All in all: we had a quite nice stay but we wouldn't recommend it to our friends. The rooms are not very stylish, ugly brown leather sofas that makes you feel like your resting in a big pile of dump, lamps and decorations in a... more

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor. From a proprietors point of view it causes us some concern. We like to feel approachable by guests who are not completely satisfied with all aspects of Les Carmes. During August there were also a number of your fellow countrymen staying here with young families. Breakfast comments are...

We (2 adults + 1 child) stayed at Les Carmes for 5 nights at the beginning of Oct. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The suite (top tower) we stayed in was HUGE, clean & beautiful. The food was just exquisite every night (we ate in 4 out of the 5 nights) The owners are really nice & helpful... more

The owners of Les Carmes are the most magnificent people. While I kept trying to request a reservation via comcast internet last spring I could never get a resopnse, so I kept requesting. Turns out they were having a problem with comcast but made a phone call to me at my office to tell me they were completely booked. They... more

We stayed here for a few days as part of our honeymoon. The B&B itself and its owners were wonderful, however, the food and the dining athmosphere really made the whole stay simply awesome. The food was gourmet for a low price and the guests that we met through cocktail hour were interesting. Plus we really loved that we didn't... more

We spent four wonderful days and nights in June, 2009, at Les Carmes. The location is really beautiful, although not the easiest to find. Do not hesitate to call Mike or Ann for assistance in locating the property. It is situated on a poorly marked local farm road that connects small towns just east of Avignon. Once on the right... more

We stayed at this wonderful bed and breakfast in early Sept. and really enjoyed it. The room (top tower) was extremely spacious, the food - both breakfast and the incredible dinners were so delicious, and the ambiance - so peaceful yet welcoming. The dinners were a steal at 35 Euro each and i would highly recommend. I would return here... more

I'm repeating all the good reviews, I know but... We stayed 5 nights with our 2 girls, ages 6 and 8. Our rooms were large and comfortable,. Our hosts were great, attentive, professional yet approachable, warm to our children. The food was delicious and a great convenience, our girls would be served a simple meal an hour before the adults, we... more

Ann and Mike Parkes run the best small hotel (six rooms) in Provence. It is centrally located -- and an oasis of calm, beauty, rest and unbelieveable food. For those of us who are "challenged" by speaking French, the ability to communicate in English was lifesaving. Ann helped us plan our daily itinerary with suggestions of fabulous -- out of... more
