If anyone is considering staying at this Inn, disregard the reviews from 2003 and 2004. As another reviewer mentioned, the Inn has recently changed management and has gone way downhill. Apparently the breakfast used to be French toast, made-to-order eggs, and fresh coffee. Although it's still laid out in the same lovely parlor, it's now more in keeping with a... more

I would just reiterate the views of others below. Make sure you double check your reservation and get precise details about which room you are allocated. I was, similarly, in an annexe, although not the modern one mentioned by someone else. I really could not believe it when I was taken down an entire flight of stairs to a basement.... more

We do have a few rooms on the split level of our properties--Half basement rooms with one or two windows above ground. Those rooms are nicely decorated with very comfortable queen size beds, private bath and working gas fireplaces. When the upper lever rooms are all booked, we always inform guests they will stay at split-level rooms before reservation to...

My husband and I booked 2 nights at A Cambridge House based on the recommendations of the folks at A Friendly Inn at Harvard Square and after seeing the lovely rooms on the website. We paid $179 per night plus 12 % tax and anticipated a Victorian experience. Upon our arrival we were told that our room was "next door"... more

The above guests made their reservation in the last minutes during the busy weekend of Tufts Commencement. The Victorian guests rooms are always fully booked months ago during special events and busy weekends. The townhouse is our newly renovated guests rooms with hotel style setting. Some of the guests do prefer townhouse over main house, since the rooms are very...

We recently spent a weekend in Boston and decided to stay at this B&B primarily because of the pictures on the website and positive comments. We were expecting a lovely inn, which it is, and a gracious, welcoming environment which it was thanks to the daytime innkeeper Ellen (the night attendant was totally disinterested in seeing to it that we... more

Looking forward to my return trip to A Cambridge house, something I have enjoyed many times, I found it very disappointing. I came back to unfamiliar faces and many changes regarding atomophere and breakfast. Apparently the Inn was recently bought out this past July and many of the unique things changed but not for the better. I could still see... more

We stayed at A Cambridge House in July. Our room was dripping with atmosphere, but was so small we could hardly move. There were no drawers to put things, only a tiny wardrobe. The bathroom was pathetic. The drawers stuck and wouldn't open. It was dark and dreary. The breakfasts were adequate but all in all not a great experience. more

I was very much looking forward to staying at A Cambridge House but unfortunately the establishment mysteriously lost my reservation. The reservation was made three months prior to my proposed arrival date on one of the busiest weekends in Boston (The Head of the Charles Regatta, the Red Sox World Series games, and parents' day at many of the local... more

We stayed here for 2 nights in early March on our "Looking for Colleges" tour. My friend and I each had a room with our teenage daughters in the the Carriage House. Both rooms were lovely - loved the fireplace after a cold day in the city. Breakfast was fabulous - good strong coffee (always a must for me), rice... more

My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay for one night as we passed through Boston on New Year's Eve. After a lot of research online and what I consider is also a great stroke of luck, I was able to find us a room available at A Cambridge House for around $150, which I thought was a good... more
