We stayed 2 nights while visiting New England area colleges for my son. The location is about a 5 to 7 min walk to Central "t" stop. About 15 min walk to Harvard Square. We really enjoyed our stay here and the only complaint I would have is that the coffee wasn't strong enough. That's pretty minor! Staff was very helpful, room was clean and comfortable, and the location is very convenient and sights and metro are within easy walking distance. more

Harding House provided an excellent home base during my recent four-night stay. The Harvard St. location was convenient to both the subway and our car rental, perfect for exploring greater Boston and beyond, while the Harvard Museums and wonderful Cambridge shopping and restaurants were within easy walking distance. I stayed here in December for a few days and enjoyed my stay. It was very quiet and charming. The breakfast was good although they did not serve a hot breakfast which was disappointing. I travelled a long way from Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was a very cold night when I arrived, and to my surprised the apartment was shiny, a great coffee selection was waiting for me and the entire place smelled like home. Ignore the two bad reviews! first of all, this is a lovely Cambridge neighborhood, at least if you are walking towards Harvard Square, or up to Inman Square (I gather it is a little dicier if you walk towards Kendall Square on Cambridge St.), and both Central Square and Inman Square have great neighborhood restaurants and bars.
