In an effort to avoid the outrageous costs of downtown Boston hotels, we happened to book at Royal Sonesta Hotel and were impressed with all the pleasant surprises. First of all, it is affordable, for a 4* level hotel which is easily accessible to the subway system into Boston. Not that you need to use the subway that much, because... more
We stayed in a river-view room with a nice panorama of the Boston skyline... kind-sized bed was very comfortable... room was large and clean... ditto, the bathroom... staff was courteous and prompt... any time I telephoned the front desk, etc, I was greeted with my sir name, which is always a nice touch... left some swimsuits in tub to dry,... more
Very good hotel conveniently located in Cambridge across the street from a mall. Great restaurants nearby as well as a wide selection of fast food or caffees inside the mall. We particularly liked the Italian restaurant across the street and the Thai fast food in the mall Rooms are clean and comfortable.Reception staff is very professional. The hotel has its... more
After reading negative feedback we were a bit worried about staying here, but we had no problems. The rooms are large, modern and extremely clean. Ok there is no towel rail in the bathroom but don't you want fresh towels everyday?? Loved the 'Art' every where, and the handy leaflet in the business centre gives you an expalnation into some... more

Then, she said we need the "other confirmation number"... more
Very satisfying stay. Spent nights here and no problems at all. Its very handy to the nearest subway station and front rooms (and side ones) have a nice view of the river. Very handy for Harvard and Boston. In fact it was probably as near to the centre of Boston as the hotels in Back Bay or similar. Rooms were... more
You get what you pay for. Definitely a reasonable price for the Boston/Cambridge area. Nothing great, but has all the basics. more
I stayed here for a professional conference that the hotel was hosting. So I got the room for a lot less money than the going rate for business hotels in the Boston area. That price and the convenience staying just up the elevator from the conference made my stay satisfactory overall. However, the location left more to be desired. I... more
My husband and I stayed at the Sonesta for two nights (23 and 24th of May) to celebrate his 30th birthday. The staff were absolutely wonderful. I told the hotel about my husband's birthday and they were so kind that they upgraded us to a Boston view room (which is amazing - better than any view of Boston from elsewhere)... more
