We were disappointed by Villa Mocenigo. It's a farm. There is a villa. I was expecting to stay in one of the beautiful rooms pictured on their website which does say, "accommodation in farmhouse" but pictures show rooms in the Villa/Farmhouse - not where they put us, which was in the 'converted stable' (apparently). We were impressed with the comfort, hospitality, cleanliness and good value. Maria Stella looked after us very well, giving us advice on what to see in the area and how to get there. An interesting bus trip to Venice and very accessible to some beautiful villages. Don't miss the food in Luigiana's restaurant - we ate here amongst the locals... more

As we pulled up, Maria Stella ran out to greet us, jumping up and down with enthusiasm - like a dear relative we hadn't seen in quite awhile. Our stay here was magic. Rooms and bathrooms very clean and in the Italian style. Mumma, Pappa, their daughter and staff looked after us as if we were part of the family. Mumma cooked up a storm for anything from 3-4 tables of guests to half the town for lunch and dinner at the weekend. Lots of Italians eating here... more

Villa Mocenigo is a real working farm about 20 km west of Venice. It’s hard to imagine a better deal than what “Mamma’s place” (as we called it) offers.
