The door greeting was "You're here early. She didn't tell me you were comin' early" Gee, talk about a warm welcome. (The innkeeper had acknowledged my online request for an early afternoon arrival by promising me a "hassle-free" open door at the Inn) So we got the message that we had done something wrong. We chose the Woodbridge Inn because it was one of the more reasonably priced inns in Woodstock, although the prices were still a bit steep. The place was beautiful from the outside, though the room was a bit small and basic (and we booked the best room she had). Our stay was fine overall and the breakfasts were fine too... more
I am sorry that you were offended by the optional gratuity. I have always had a housekeeper and in the global guide to tipping the housekeeper who tidies and cleans the room should receive approx. $1 to $2 per day. We stayed over the Columbus day weekend and had an excellent visit. Amy and her staff were most gracious and the food was outstanding. It is just five minutes west of Woodstock and it was nice to be away from the crowds. We would definitely visit again and the price is definitely right. more
