We stayed here at the start of July for one week, after driving over from the uk and travelling through central spain. On arrival in +35 heat :-) Henrietta the owner greeted us in the carpark and guided us down to our yurt, helping us carry some of our rather excessive luggage in an extra wheelbarrow! The Yurt (Maiami) was... more

We would like to thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and for giving us an overall 4 out of 5. We would like to say a few things about solar power, camping stoves and the Andalucian countryside, which might help to explain why some things are as they are here. As you say we do have...

My wife and I decided we should take advantage of our last few months of freedom before our first child is born and head to the Yurt Hotel. We had an absolutely incredible time, quickly shutting down from everyday life and relaxing in the comfort of our own private meadow. The yurts are very comfortable and there's something about the... more

Spent a wonderful 4 days here in July 08...rested, relaxed and enjoyed amazing food. The yurt is fantastic fun - camping without the hassle in some luxury. The composting loo is, surprisingly, quite good fun too!! We had a massage under the cork trees on my birthday, followed by a delighful dinner with our new friends in the pergola. The... more

We have just returned from a 14 day holiday in the Afghan Yurt, and can only agree with all the previous favourable reviews. The Site and local area are incredibly beautiful, and the concreting of the notoriously bad approach road was completed by the council while we were there, so this is no longer an issue. Hospitality is first class,... more

What a Magical Place!. We visited the yurt Hotel for 3 nights to completely 'switch off' which we did. The Yurts are fantastic and very well furnished. Each one set in it's own area so that you have complete privacy. The pool was lovely and totally fitted in with the surroundings.Staff at the hotel were really great and someone on... more

Ed and Henrietta have created something quite extraordinary and magical .... the Yurts are beautiful as is their setting - peaceful and practical at the same time. Your outdoor shower and composting loo is privately positioned a few yards from the yurt door - that means you need a torch to get there at night - but they are comfortable... more

I absolutely loved this place. I went on my own for a serious alone time chill out holiday and then wished I'd taken the girlfriend and my my mates!!! Apart from the gorgeous surroundings, pool etc, the fact that this place is about as eco green as it gets made the whole thing feel that much more amazing. Glad to... more

Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel for three nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The yurt itself was spotlessly clean and it had everything we needed. The views were amazing, and the setting ideal. Henrietta's cooking is really wonderful, and she serves up each course at exactly the right time, we regretted not booking in for two dinners.... more

The Hoopoe Yurt Hotel was a bit of a gamble as it was our honeymoon and my suggestion. Camping can go one of two ways but Ed and Henrietta's set-up in the most idyllic setting is out of this world. The attention to detail is very impressive. We stayed in the Afghan Yurt. The interior is very stylish with antique... more

Perfect get away for the independent traveller. Amazing mountain location. Bumpy road yes - so get a jeep or small 4 x 4 or extra undercarriage and wheel insurance. It's part of the price to pay for the tucked away location and you do get used to it after doing it a couple of times. It's very peaceful (not necessarily... more
