If cruising is your thing then this is the place for you. There are 3 buildings but they've never offered to put me up in the "cottages" and its just as well. If you are looking for discretion and privacy then choose the back building. The front building on the other hand features full ceiling to floor windows and is... more

This place is the worst hotel or whatever it is! The drawers were filled with roaches! The closet was filled with urine smell. Which reek throughout! Disgusting and despicable! No one should enter! I would not let my dog lay on this floor. We got our money back but after showing the room to the Lady at the front desk.... more

I travel into Atlanta several times a year for shows at the merchandise mart . In years past I have enjoyed staying at the Cheshire Bridge Motor Lodge. Last year my stay at the hotel was ok and the problems I encountered would work themselves out , But I found after my recent stay that this has only gotten worse.... more

The Cheshire Motor Inn is indeed right out of circa 1955. There is also not another motel like it in the U.S. The staff, led by Loraine, the Manager are all very kind and helpful, with the possible exception of the overnight clerk, who is not really that mean, but he really is not that nice either. Without a reservation,... more

I spent three nights and I would definitely return. It is an older property but the bedding and bathroom were clean and the housekeepers did a nice job. There is the cruising but if you keep the drapes closed you are totally unaware of it. The best thing is the Colonnade Restaurant next door. The fried chicken, collard greens, and... more

I checked in here because of the low price. Here is a rundown of the problems. Small roaches in the bathroom but I could have lived with that. This place is a cruise area for gay men. The curtains at the front window would only close with about a 1/4 inch gap remaining. Men would go by the window and... more

When checking in I was told they only had one room available and they would give it to me for a great rate. The rate was great, however, there was no TV or radio in the room! Also, the cold water in the shower didn't work, so I was almost scalded trying to shower. I have never in my life... more

Staid here many, many, many times solo and with dear friends! Ownership has chanaged within recent times. With two styles of accommodation, the older annex more of a Route 66 sampler and with 2 recent buildings, 'tis true a campus ambiance pervades. And the front desk couldn't be nicer but we truly miss David after his departure. The down home... more

Hotel is a standard motor lodge with typical amenities. Employees are friendly. The problem that I encountered was that the local middle age gay population use the parking lot as a meeting place. Traffic in/out of the hotel was non-stop all night with men looking for other men. The weather outside was in the mid-20's with ice, but this did... more

I rarely write reviews, but when I read the previous review I was a bit offended. The Cheshire is truly a classic "motel" in the 1950s sense of the word. As a gay man, when I travel I always stay there because of the location, price and friendly staff. The cruising is secondary and does not interfer with anyone. The... more
