Made the decision to stay here based upon location. After reading the previous reviews upgraded to a Kiva room and it was worth the extra $$ for the nicer furnishings. Limited lighting in room & you may have to move lamps around to read at night. To be safe have a copy of your reservation confirmation with you. We booked... more

Without a doubt, I have never had a worse hotel experience. The rooms are in dire need of renovation. There was standing water in the shower; the carpet had holes in it; I could feel the mattress springs; and the linens were filthy. The clincher was seeing a mouse run across the room when I woke up in the morning... more

Stayed 2 nights at Far View Motoor Lodge in Mesa Verde. Older lodge, though nice amentiies. We were in room 132 that had the MOST SPECTACULAR view. Ok, there wasn't enough plug ins in the bathroom sink part. Bring a "squid" extension cord and that should work (we just forgot ours). Older hotels don't accommodate for all the stuff that... more

We stayed in a regular room and loved it. Yes, basic amenities and small bathroom, but what would you expect?? It's a privilege just to visit Mesa Verde, a world heritage site - we didn't come expecting a sauna or hot tub experience. The Lodge was built a long time ago, and for its age it's in great shape. Our... more

I was pleased with my accomodations at this lodge. It was a regular room. I had read some not so great reviews prior to staying there, so I was a litte worried. No problem. It is a park service hotel, so it is not meant to be luxurious. They did try to upgrade. They had berber carpeting and small fake... more

The only plus for this motor lodge is the location and views. Otherwise, I wouldn't stay there again. We stayed in a double standard room in Oct. 2009. I could barely turn around in the bathroom and the shower was worse. The heater came on with a blast about every 30 minutes all night long. It was noisy and miserable.... more

We found this property to meet our needs in every way and would not hesitate to stay again and to recommend it to friends. We had a kiva room which was very roomy and clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked with fluffy towels. There was a deck where we could sit and enjoy the quiet... more

Friendly staff, laid-back atmosphere. Rooms very spartan and showing their age. Smallest shower/toilet room ever! Internet only in the foyer, and then only intermittent. Restaurant was very nice, good food and service, but popular, so get there early! more

I want to give this lodge 2 stars. I want to but I can't because of the view and its isolated location. Twenty miles into the Mesa Verde National Park, you will find Far View Lodge along with the Metate Room (a pretentious restaurant with average food but the same sweeping views), a cafe, and a visitor center. The nearest... more

Briefly, you are paying for the location. Run by Aramark; very friendly staff at the hotel and at the two restaurants. The Metate Room restaurant is a "hidden gem", much higher quality than expected and at fair prices. The stay was a good value for what we paid. We stayed in a Kiva room and booked through Aramark's reservations site.... more
