Anywhere you go in Spain, if a Parador is one of your options, it's often the best one. This Parador is not a palace or a castle, but it's on a cliff overlooking a spectacular cove with a small public beach at one end. There's a restaurant right on the beach which is run by the hotel (open for lunch... more

My bf and I spent 5 days at this hotel and loved every minute of it (in fact, we added an additional day). I am dumbfounded at how many people complained about the restaurant on the premises and wonder why they didn't try the local restaurants instead. The breakfasts at the hotel were great, but other than that, we didn't... more

Having recently stayed at the near-state-of-art El Saler parador, I was quite shocked by Aiguablava (I should mention that, like several earlier reviewers, my male S.O. did not notice the shabbiness of our room... until the sewer/swamp odor began to emanate from the vent system when we turned the bathroom light on). Not to dwell on the many deficiencies, the... more

This was one of the worst hotels we've ever stayed in. Beautiful location, but think the building must have been a mental institution before. Rooms were like college dorm. With half board, forced to eat in dining room which felt like a conference room. No ambiance and mediocre food. Plus, from service standpoint, remember these are government workers. more

We arrived here late in the day with no reservation. Since they were not full we were able to get a "special room" at a reduced rate, and boy was it worth it! The special room was a suite (one of four on the top floor of the hotel). It had huge deck off it and a small balcony suitable... more

Did I completely miss the point? I read a few reviews before staying here and as a birthday treat had high expectaions. The communal parts were retro and to a standard but the rooms were of a poor standrad and no better than a 2* hotel we stayed in the night before. The balcony (which overlooked the roof of the... more

My wife and I and 2 friends stayed at the Parador Aiguablava 2 nights in June before heading to Barcelona. We caught our first glimpse of the Parador as we drove our way down on a twisting, turning road. The beauty of the white Parador jumped out at us and took our breath away. The Parador has a beautiful setting... more

While the rooms are clean and the view is spectacular, unless you have a car you will eat extremely expensive dinners there that are flavorless, austentatious, and not good. How can they charge $40 for a small bowl of flavorless beef stew? The view is gorgeous but that does mean a steep walk to the small beach. Even using the... more
