Best Westerns are usually pretty good, but this one is at the far end of town in an especially lonesome turn in the road. Dislikes: Plenty of transients walking up and down the street, or hitchhiking at the freeway entrance (located 20 feet from entrance). For some reason when I was there a number of tattooed drunk locals were using... More

Dear Travler, It pains us to read that we did not meet your expectationsduring your stay in Barstow. We always do our very best to provide clean, safe, and comfortable accomodations for our guests though we do realize that there are times we fall short. I noticed that your stay was last spring 2011. Since then, we have become a... More

Hi, I am from Australia and like my Best Western's down under. I was not disappointed. Free Breakfast, Free Wifi, and most of all a FRIDGE. I travel with medications that need to be refrigerated and usually I only get an ice bucket. But, what about keeping the ice bricks frozen? So, a fridge with a freezer section was an... More

The Desert Villa is located on the east end of Barstow, just beyond the mostly empty Barstow Mall (I remember when it was a busy place). The motel is sandwiched between I-40 and the railroad, which means it's not going to be real quite, but all the rooms face a central parking lot which reduces the noise somewhat. The rooms... More

This is one of those Best Westerns that has not quite gotten all the upgrades done. I had asked for an ADA approved room but was told upon arrival that the King sized room wasn't available. I had to take a Queen to remain downstairs. The Lobby is quite nice. The rooms-not so much. They are very dated. They are... More

I travel constantly and find myself in Barstow on a regular basis. I have reviewed other hotels in Barstow and have stayed in most of them. On this trip, my client was staying at the Best Western so it seemed appropriate for me to stay there as well since we were meeting there each morning. This particular motel is nearly... More

I am a highly decorated veteran and former NFL football player. Barstow is a small isolated town between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, so hotels there are many, but few are admirable. The Best Western Plus Desert Villa Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It is quiet, secure, and in wonderful / very appealing condition. The staff is equally... More

This is an okay place. Getting in from the south is a bit tricky - it is at the end of the exit ramp off I-40. I had reserved a room with a roll-in shower, but when we arrived we were told that room had been damaged 2 weeks before and was not available. They should have let me know... More

Dear Traveler, I apologize that no one from the hotel informed you earlier about the damaged handicap accessible room. I believe the room was expected to be repaired before your visit but again, I am sorry that you were not informed and that the alternative room, though indeed handicap accessible, was not as comfortable. Within the next few months we... More

We stayed overnight en route from Las Vegas to Palm Springs. Its conveniently located near the interstates and not from from local restaurants. Room was clean and the bed comfortable, although the shower was a bit dated. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Breakfast was nice, pretty much like other Best Westerns we've stayed at. We stayed en route to Las Vegas, coming from Wilton, tired and ready to rest. This place was great! The room was spacious, the bed was really comfortable and the sheets so fine. Lovely duvet. The best part for us was FIVE pillows on the bed and two more spares, wow! Loved it! Staff were very courteous and helpful. This... More
