This is a lovely hotel and resort. It claims 5 star but compared to 5* hotels in European cities and the Middle East and Asia - its not quite there. Being Marriott regulars plus vacation owners, we have experienced a range of Marriott hotels in Europe and some in America. With regret, the Marriott at Denia did not live up to our expectations. The first " very good" is the hotel. Its located in a very nice area and is well located to make an excursion (yes you need for that a car) if you want. A wonderful hotel but you will need a car as it is in the middle of the countryside. Great spacious rooms, lovely bathrooms, toiletries, bath robes, unfortunately no tea making facilites in the rooms. A wonderful hotel with helpfull staff, a bit out in the sticks so would advise a car but all in all a great stay. A bit on the expensive side but the spa and pools are worth a visit so relaxing and quite reasonable. more

This was our third Xmas visit and we wondered if the previous years' standards would be upheld. No worries-they were. We had a wonderful 5 nights at La Sella. Beds were really comfortable, service was great, ideal for a relaxing stay (even with 3 kids!) Spa is well worth the special price of 15euro for guests. Location and outlook really attractive. Close to Javea and Denia for restaurants and lots of other day trip possibilities. more
