I chose Captain's House because of the reviews on tripadvisor. I am so glad that I did. I had to travel to Cromer for a meeting (a 10 hour journey which involved 4 trains). I was exhausted and a bit fed up when I finally arrived .I emailed Gillian to tell her that I would be arriving later than expected... more

We booked the Emelia suite at Captain's House after reading the tripadvisor reviews. We were lucky enough to stay for Gillian & James' Valentines Weekend special, which included her legendary breakfasts, afternoon tea and supper on Friday and a four course meal on Saturday evening. Emelia herself decorated the tables and the food and ambiance couldn't have been better. A... more

Our stay was a short break for 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. We can honestly say we have never ever felt so welcome and looked after by the owners, Gillian and James. Such a wonderful couple we could talk to for ages (and did!) Nothing was too much trouble - we asked if a DVD could be put in... more

We visited the Captain's House in October 2007 and we were blown away by the very high standard of the accommodation. Gillian and James are the perfect hosts making you feel totally at home. The decor of the property is second to none and lives up to the wonderful pictures on the website (which is not always the case). The... more

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights in Captains Cabin and we were delighted with our choice of hotel. Our hosts, Gillian and James, take service and standards seriously. They are both welcoming and helpful. Captains Cabin is a lovely home with clean, comfortable rooms and beds. We were in "Emelia", a spacious room with lovely sea views. Gillian... more

What a fabulous place to stay. After reading the reviews decided this would be a good place to stay and we were not disappointed. We stayed for 2 nights in the Loylie 2 bedroom suite and were very comfortable. Falling to sleep to the sound of the sea is fantastic. Gillian and James have thought of everything you could possibly... more

I have just returned from a one night stay at the Captains House Cromer with my husband. We booked the hotel with confidence after reading the previous reviews on Trip advisor. This really is a beautiful Hotel and most welcoming. We booked very last minute so only managed to get the smallest room, but this still had everything you would... more

We found this place on trip adviser and were delighted to find this hotel was as good as the previous reviewer said. We stayed one night in Loylie, the two bedroom suite in the attic floor. This was really comfortable, with king size beds in each bedroom, and a lounge with comfortable sofa, expresso machine and fridge. The bathroom was... more
