We spent a relaxing, peaceful weekend getaway at K Bar S Lodge. Close to town but felt secluded. (So glad we chose this over "in town" hotels!) This is a classy, upscale lodge just one mile outside of Keystone SD with awesome views of the cliffs & woods. Everything looked brand new. We stayed several nights August, 2012 during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and had a great experience. Clean, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfasts, and friendly guests. Great view at night of Mount Rushmore from our balcony. Would definitely stay again! Oh, and great for motorcyclists as well. Free wash station to clean bikes too.

Outstanding location with a view of the big heads. A short walk to down town Keystone. Perfect location. Great value, nice clean large room, good bed. The only negative is we were right off the lobby and with the bus tours loading in the morning you didn't need an alarm clock.

Our room was on the back side of the lodge but probably because of the price. You can go to a common area with a balcony and see Mt. Rushmore. It's a great location and I am sure it is better in peak season, so believe me it is probably the best place to stay in Keystone. My only criticism is the rooms could do with a makeover, they are a bit old fashioned.
