My wife and I stayed for 4 days after a trip to the Galapagos. It was a wonderful counterpoint. The lodge is 2 hours downstream from Coca on the Rio Napo. From the small dock, you hike for about 15 minutes, then take a dugout canoe through the jungle and across a small lake. The lodge itself is incredibly nice... More

My husband and I visited La Selva as part of a small group tour in early Dec 2012. The lodge is in an excellent location on its own lake on the Navo river and the food is outstanding. It's worth noting La Selva was the only hotel on our long tour that made a real effort with gluten free and... More

We stayed for 3 nights over new year and had a great time! We were in cabana 6 which was a more basic cabana, had 1 double bed and 1 single, some shelves, hangers and a bathroom with shower only, and a hammock on porch. the lodge has hot water and electricity from about 4am to 11.30pm daily, all food... My family and I just returned from a 5 day/4 night trip to La Selva Jungle Lodge in the Ecuadorian Amazon. We had booked the baby boomer package, and although they didn't deliver on all of the promised goodies (more on that later), we still had a great time. We arrived from Quito around noon (later than originally expected since... More

I was very keen to experience the jungle and wildlife and booked La Selva after reading the reviews. Positives Trip there is lovely on a motorised canoe followed by a paddle canoe across a small lake. Accommodation is very comfortable (we had a lovely renovated room), food was good and location is lovely - on the edge of the lake... More

We stayed here over New years and before we went to the Galapagos Islands. We found it to be the perfect combination. We absolutely loved every minute of it. We were completely taken care of from the moment we stepped on the motorized canoe to the moment we returned. They carried our bags, they paddled, you didn't have to do... More

Our trip to La Selva Jungle Lodge truly was the trip of a lifetime. As previous reviews have stated, you get up early every day, but that is only so you can experience the beauty and life of the jungle at it's best. This trip is not for sissies! You are up and down steps, in and out of canoes,... More

So, the guide and the jungle were great, but the lodge, well... I was expecting basic accommodations. I wasn't expecting luxury, I wasn't expecting tv or internet access. I did expect CLEAN. The sheets on my bed were not clean. The floor was not clean. The bathroom was not clean. The shower was not clean. While I expected the occasional... More

My elderly parents and I stayed 4 nights at La Selva as part of our Galapagos centred vacation Ecuador. Having now returned home I'd have to say that our stay at La Selva was in fact the highlight of the trip. The Galapagos were great, but La Selva was truly amazing! Rodrigo was an amazing naturalist/leader who truly opened our... More
