When we got off the bus in Montañita, we were going to look for a hostel called Centro del Mundo. A man came up to us advertising Hostel Montezuma. He said that Montezuma would cost 8 dollars a person per night. We thought this was way too much money and kept walking towards the other hostel. He eventually offered it to us for 6 dollars including breakfast. We took him up on his offer and were led into a small, dark room for all 6 of us. It has one matrimonial bed and 2 bunk beds in a space that would have been better off with just 2 bunk beds. Everything was sandy, no surprise at the beach, but also very dirty. The matrimonial bed had no mattress, just sheets on the springs. My bunk bed was just fine. We did have a private bathroom with hot water which was unexpected at the beach. The breakfast was bread and fruit but not bad.
So basically the room was really bad but the service was very friendly. Yan, the guy who met us on the street, went out to dinner with us, partied...
