Stayed here on my own for a couple of nights, whilst at a local conference. It's a big old house, with creaky floor boards and high ceilings. It feels more like a home that a hotel, with a very large living room, where you can laze around on the big sofas or pop outside to the swimming pool area (more... More

We have just stayed for three nights in a studio unit. It had a small table with two chairs, a settee and an armchair, it was a nice change from places that expect you to sit on the bed (where I always fall asleep!) We found the bed incredibly comfortable, and slept very well. The kitchen was well equipped for... More

We stayed here at short notice and were made very welcome. The experience at reception was good and diffrerent pricing options were clearly explained. We opted for the relatively new studio, well appointed and clean. The quality of the fixtures and fittings is good, basic kitchen also supplied with fridge microwave crockery and cutlery which allowed us to bring in... More

Thank you for your review. We love hearing from our guests. Nice to know what we do well and can improve on. FYI .. Toilet seat has been re-ordered today. Our previous order prior to xmas seams to have gone astray, I appreciate the comment, it got me on to it :-) More

The rooms are nice and I liked the traditional feel and high ceilings. The communial areas are fantastic, the living room is comfy and the kitchen is excellent. The only issue I had was that the building (which is the old police station) sits above a very busy junction of the main road going north from Auckland and several others.... More

Warkworth Lodge is an elegant, homey place with a touch of class and a feeling like home. The ample kitchen is open to guests for drinks and snacks and there is a small but adequate outdoor pool. Local chocolate mints on the pillows at night are an extra touch of class. Lovely, roomy bedrooms, full bathrooms, and lots of windows... More

We stayed at the Warkworth Lodge at Easter and chose a studio. It was a bit cramped for my liking, and the kitchen was tiny and difficult to cook in. The hot plate cooked on warm (not hot) and the thermostat kept turning off just at it started to cook. It made cooking a meal difficult, which we needed to... More

I can't speak for the whole establishment but the "Pink Villa" room that my husband and I recently stayed in was very basic, tired, and with very dim lighting. Although it had a fireplace, it was in name only. The hearth and mantle were both completely bare--a non-functioning fireplace can still be VERY attractive, but this wasn't. Both windows faced... We stayed here for one night on the way north and were upgraded into a larger double room with king bed and huge, well equipped bathroom by the very helpful owners. The room also had a pleasing outside access to a sheltered patio and the car park which assisted case unloading. Our end of the house was early 20th century... More

I visit family in Warkworth every year and after a horror night stay at Bridgehouse (down the hill) I found this place and return now every year. Always consistently great and in winter they have a very welcoming fire burning in the communal lounge - lovely.
