We spend 2 nights in the hotel, i would say the reception was really warm and helpful. With the hotel itself,i think the furnishing is a bit old with a tiny little TV on top of the sink which you can only watch from a proper angle when you lay on your bed, however i would say it might be... More

We had a stay in this hotel in January 2012. Just be aware that this is no boutique hotel at all and the name is misleading.Neither is it luxury. It's an okay 3 to 4 star place on international standards. Rooms are clean and in a good shape but that's it. There's really nothing luxurious or boutiquish in what you... More

The place is really nice. It is located 2 minutes from Fox Glacier and about 20 minutes from Franz Josef. You can walk to all the restaurants in town, it's all on the same block. The rooms are average size and very comfortable. Theres a nice size bathroom. We had a nice view from the balcony. The staff is extremely... More

we just got back after spending 2 nights at this hotel - its amazingly clean, really nice place - I would say its prob. best place in the small town. That said, its one of the more expensive hotels and if I were to compare it to what ~395$/night can get me, its not great value at all. Oh by... More

The above is quoted from their own email, hardly call this place Luxury or indeed Boutique. If this is what New Zealanders call Luxury then I am very worried. For UK travellers who may be reading this, think of a Travelodge then minus what they offer by 50% and you will get my point! We paid a stupid amount of... More

The rooms were spacious and big bathroom. The lounge was lovely with books to read, we had a lovely time here due to the very poor weather with a glass of wine with the fire lit. The local pub was great fitted us in due to labour day thank you. Excellent breakfast. More

You have to understand that when the wife and I were going to Fox Glacier, we weren't sure what to expect. We knew that New Zealand was full of small towns and that Fox would probably be the smallest one we'd be visiting on our honeymoon. After a very long and stressful drive from Blenheim (first day driving on the... More

Stayed here for 2 nights with parents. When we got in, staff had already turned on the heat in the room which was a nice touch. Room spacious and clean. Hotel has a big lounge with open fire and good views of the town backed by mountains, perfect for relaxing after a day hiking on the glacier. More

Drove in from Queenstown and was greeted by the owner who was out doing some gardening and work around the place. Can't remember his name, but he was extremely welcoming and gave us some recommendations for dinner (of the 2 or so places that were available in Fox!) The rooms are reasonably comfortable, nothing flash. From what we saw around... More
