Our pine lodge was roomy,well designed and very comfortable. It is set back from the highway in lovely gardens so was quiet and relaxing. It is a short car ride to Franz Josef to the glacier and restaurants(Beeches was great). Paul and Kaz were helpful hosts. more

We spent one night here on our honeymoon. The hotel has beautiful views of the glacier, and the room (Coach House suite) was spacious, clean, and modern. The tv was tiny - that was my only complaint. We got a great winter rate through the lodge's own website - so always worth a check. The rooms are extremely well appointed. Large with a separate seating area with sofa and TV (although ours was older style and had a weird green hue around the top). What a fab place! So clean and the bathroom was fab. Not sure if the underfloor heating was on when we were there as it was very cold outside. Chocolates by the kettle were a nice and welcome touch. The breakfast was great! The manager, Kaz was so welcoming and helpful. We had a great time! more

This accommodation didn't measure up to our expectations and in our opinion was a little over-priced for fairly basic facilities. The lodge and rooms were very clean but... Lots of pine, and I hate pine! They only catered for breakfast so we had to drive into Franz Josef for other meals. Service was basic. more
