We stayed here one night while passing through the West Coast. Although enjoyable, you get a lot more for your money elsewhere in NZ. Don't waste your time going motel shopping in Franz Josef. This should be you first and last stop. Room was a smallish queen/single/sofabed, but with well equipped kitchenette. Staff were very helpful with tips on best place to eat and where to go sightseeing and really promoted all that was good about Franz Josef. The room was tidy and the kitchen well stocked with plates etc. The bathroom was basic. more

Stayed 2 nights in a Queen Studio. The lodge was located next to the Glacier walk business and a service station which closed at 6pm. We stayed here in May as part of our honeymoon and wow it was wonderful! Excellenent location with brilliant views. The staff went out of their way to help us. We had the spa suite and it was worth every cent! They decoratated the rooms for us beautifully with fresh flowers and scents and had candles near the spa etc!... more

Located just on the fringe of Franz Josef town,a very convenient walk to all the shops. Really nice big room, with warmed up blanket, niffy kitchen, clean toilets and a great view of the mountains from the deck area.
