Close by the main part of town, easy walk to the shops etc. Very spacious rooms which were neat and clean and also comfortable with its own kitchen. Very friendly staff who were very accommodating. Recommended.

You are literally just steps from everything. The motel room we stayed in was clean and spacious, with a wall mounted tv. The kitchenette seemed well equipped. The bathroom was large and had a welcome heat light, although the wet room style shower ensured that water went everywhere when you showered. The managers were incredibly chirpy, lovely stay.

Tucked behind the Main Street, we found the Alpine Glacier to have everything we needed. We only stayed overnight, but our king studio was clean, comfortable and of a good standard. We stayed 2 nights on our trip to the South island, the experience was awesome. The rooms are of the best quality and care, just adds to the beauty of staying in Franz Josef. Highly recommend to everyone!

The Alpine Glacier Motor Lodge is very nice with plenty of room at a reasonable price. The location is perfect for exploring the glaciers and walking around Lake Matheson. Very comfortable, neat, clean, large room with a nice kitchenette that is well stocked. Room had a nice view of the hills around and we could see the sunrise from our bed. The staff gave us a warm welcome. The motel is well located. Real value for money.
