The Red Lion can't be beat for location. We had a room overlooking the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Gorgeous view. The room was satisfactory, but certainly nothing special. We just stayed here one night before we went to hurricane ridge which was great location for that part of our trip. We arrived late and check-in seemed a bit unpofessional. Clean hotel, accepts dogs, on the waterfront but the view is not great so I wouldn't spend the extra for a view. restaurant attached has good prices and value. Located close to everything in walking distance. more

Port Angeles is not a nice town, kind of a ferry town with a lot of people in transit. They are making some efforts with well indicated walks along the sea and harbour. This once fine hotel no longer rates 3 stars. Our $200 a night room was not clean (hair in sink and tub, mold in tub grout), the air conditioner did not work, no refrigerator or microwave in room.
