The hotel was located in a rather seedy neighborhood, and it looked the part, too. Hoping the exterior was hiding something better, we decided to keep our reservation. Upon check in, we were told we were being "upgraded" to an Executive King, rather than the standard King we had booked. I feel bad for the poor people who got the... more

Surprised on hotel quality upon arrival. Located in a not so good neighborhood, but was only 5min from the seminars I attended. The only beef I had with this hotel is I had asked for no service one day and the serviced it anyways. more

The Holiday Inn Salt Lake City is average, but is a good dollar value. I will say that it does have some advantages. Like all Holiday Inns in the USA, internet is free. My room was clean, there were plenty of outlets to plug in all my stuff, and the price I got (mid $70's) was a keeper. Some negatives... more

Stayed here for nine nights for the Rotary International convention in Jun 2007. We booked through the Salt Lake Convention bureau and got the great conference rate (USD 99) per night. We booked 6 rooms and I had some email correspondence before arrival with Karin the reservations manager - who was very prompt and helpful with updating details. She noticed... more

I came to Salt Lake City to visit my father while he was in the hospital. I chose to stay at this location because it was fairly close to the hospital without being in the center of all thenoise in the downtown area. I arrived a few hours before check in but the front desk staff went ahead and found... more

My family and I were on vacation and we were going to just stay in our trailer in a campground by the State Fair Park as we visited Historic Temple Square, but as it would happen our trailer had to have some repairs made at the last minute. So we changed our plans. We showed up late Friday night and... more

The circumstances of my stay were unfortunate (delayed flights), but I hope they won't overshadow my perception of the value of my stay at the Holiday Inn. Then again, my stay was comp., so I might go too easy on them. ;-) Things I liked: -Prompt airport shuttle, -Clean, attractive lobby area, -Comp. inroom wireless internet. Things that should improve:... more

I don;t have high expectations from hotels in Utah - they are all average.... this hotel was clean and Ok to stay in but I could not sleep well. I had room close to elevator. For some reason cleaning people think it is OK to communicate with ech other by screamin across the hall while they are cleaning rooms early... more

My first expereince at the Holiday Inn Downtown Salt Lake City was a front desk employee telling me he didn't know how to get to the hotel from the airport (about 5 miles away) so he couldn't give me directions. Talk about start a trip with a fizzle. Lobby/Common Areas: Lobby was nice, with a computer with internet access for... more

The staff at this hotel are wonderful, kind and helpful. The food was excellent though my tea was sour. The first room I was given was so far away from the lobby. It was a good hike. The room was worn and out dated but clean. I asked to be cahnged to something closer. I was moved above check in... more
