Had a reservation and stayed 15 minutes...the room smelt like stale smoke and the carpet was dirty. Open the drapes to look out...the windows were filthy. Went across the street to the Hilton, very happy here. More

I have never had a problem finding a nice (Hilton, Marriott etc) cheap (less than $100) hotel in Salt Lake City. Something must have been going on last week because all the decent places were booked or wanting $200-300 a night. We ended up at the Shilo ($119) on the reccomendation of a friend who assured us it was "fine"... More

We stayed here for two nights and had an overall positive experience. The front desk attendants were very friendly as well as the staff working at Krewson's Cafe on the lower level. It is also very conveniently located to various points of interest in downtown Salt Lake, and there are many choices close by when it comes to dining options.... More

Everything is broke at this motel from the water facet to the phone. This motel is in serious need of updating. Our room had broken electrical outlets, light switches and lamps that did not work and a facet in the shower that required a strongman to turn on and off. The hot water ran out a few minutes after you... More

We stayed just one night on the night before we flew home and found the front desk and breakfast staff friendly and helpful. The location was great (downtown and near the interstate and airport). The pool was warm and very clean (no chlorine smell--a sign of excellent maintenance). Kind of a rectangle shape but not a lap pool so I... More

Don't let the 1970's Reno-style neon exterior deter you. The interior of the hotel and rooms are pleasantly surprising. The rooms are very large with comfortable updated beds and quality bedding. The hotel has a large indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, fitness room, business center and free parking. Its not quite a 4 star but its an excellent bargain. The... More

Second time to stay at the SLC Shilo. Great location and clean room, bed was comfy, only negative I seen was the chairs in the rooms were starting to show there age with the armrest worn out and the foam pushing through. The value was good , included breakfast was good, and I would stay again. More

We had a great experience at the Shilo. The rooms were clean, the people were very friendly, and breakfast was a nice surprise! My kids couldn't ride the outside elevator enough times and the pool was awesome! Personally, I loved the hot tub! It's close in proximity to everything we wanted to do. thanks for great stay! Excellently located hotel for what I was needing, and the staff were fantastic. I think in it's day this would have been a fantastic hotel to stay at, however I think the furnishings throughout the hotel and the building itself is badly in need of a bit of restoration. The room itself was fine, bed was comfortable, tv was nice... More

I have mixed feelings about this place. The location was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the rooms were ok. The elevators worked, although the call button was temperamental in the lobby. The rooms were clean but not spotless. The breakfast had limited choices with just adequate proportions, not wonderful like at the serve yourself all you want... More
