I had put a lot of thought and research in the hotel (and location) where we would stay while visiting D.C. I am so glad I made the right decision! Gaylord National was wonderful. The rooms were spacious - we paid a little extra and upgraded to a room with a balcony. Our balcony overlooked the reception and dining area.... more

A gaggle of well-dressed, mid-thirties ladies planned a 24-hour-getaway for a soon-to-be-bride. Room wasn't ready when we arrived, spa services charged full price but were cut short (arrive at least a half-an-hour prior to your appointment time), chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne finally arrived (4 hours late, but better than never - the first empowered customer service by a Gaylord employee... more

The hotel is fine as far as rooms, gym, pool, etc. are concerned. The staff is horrible. Some were very nice but it amazed me how no one had no answers when it came to questions of transportation, sightseeing or close by services. This is a resort where service is everything. The shuttle from the airport was $18 a person... more

This hotel is new and looks great but the staff service is awful, they treat you like a number, I was very disappointed. I reserved the room on a credit card but when i arrived they claimed not to have this credit card on file - i work in a hotel so know this simply cant happen. The "manager Kim"... more

I had a conference there. After reading all the terrible reviews I was getting nervous. Went with my wife and 3 sons (ages 9-16). Let me say it this way: checkin and checkout went perfectly. Room was quiet and very nice. Staff couldn't have been nicer, more helpful and more friendly--all the way from the bellman outside, to the housekeeping... more

Gaylord National is an exceptional Hotel, outbeats all other Gaylord properties. We had a family vacation of adults just to see DC and they made our trip so enjoyable. Booking through Orbitz kept us within budget and the hotel Exec. Car service and DC Onboard trip pick up. Gaylord Exec Car drivers are well schooled in the sites of DC,... more

Very relaxing stay. The atmosphere is awesome. The view from the (balcony) atrium room is well worth the extra cost. In the evening the view from the balcony, the music and the water show is something to enjoy. We ordered room service for breakfast and it was delivered within 30 minutes, hot and delicious. Room service includes a 21% tip.... more

First, the positives: Great facility; well-maintained, restuarants were great; convention services were excellent and the food served in those areas were great as well. And the waiters there were excellent and very accommodating to those with special needs. Room was spacious and had comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom with spacious showers. But, the negatives: Housekeeping "forgot" to clean my room even... more

Went for a work convention, and the facilities were very clean and new. The rooms were decent, however I did not get one with an atrium or water view, I was stuck looking into a service courtyard facing other rooms, with no balcony. I recommend staying in an atrium view room or one facing the waterfront. The whole area is... more

When I booked for my June conference (which had been in Las Vegas for the past 7 years), I looked up the Gaylord reviews and was horrified. Just about all were negative -- bad rooms, noisy rooms, rude staff, overpriced food, etc. I found everything (hotel-wise) to be wonderful. The resort is lovely, rooms are spacious and well-appointed. I did... more
