Wanted to stay in a hotel or B&B with a real southwest ambiance. The exterior and interior of the facility certainly had that. A great adobe building dating to the 1790's with an interior common area and individual rooms beautifully decorated to give one the experience of the old southwest. The breakfasts were served buffet style and were quite ample,... more

This is an old adobe (circa 1790), restored in the 1960s. It's not a Marriott or a Hilton. For which we were very glad! The place is historic and beautiful, the rooms we saw were all spacious. Ours was comfortable and then some with a wood-burning fireplace, lots of places to put stuff, and a very cozy bed. Our room... more

My brother was married at hacienda Antigua in March 2007. We stayed there as part of the wedding package, and we had a really great time. Be aware that this place is really old - the hot water and pipes are tempermental and the electricity cannot handle having everyone blow-dry their hair at the same time. But overall, a great... more

We stayed at this B & B for 7 nights in May and found it to be extremely disappointing. 1 - The room was not clean, period. 2 - We were given one motel sized bar of soap for 7 nights! 3 - The cups and glasses were not replaced at all 4 - The coffee maker in the room... more

It's a beautiful place, historically interesting, but the inn owners just don't seem to care about its upkeep or even the quality of the food. We stayed in a very nice room (separate entrance, not one of the rooms off the living room). Actually, it *looked* nice until I took off my shoes and discovered that the throw rugs in... more

We traveled 2300 miles from Dallas, TX to the Grand Canyon and back, stayed in eight different places in eleven nights and the best by far was the Hacienda Antigua in NM. During April vacation we traveled with another family, a total of 4 adults and 4 children under age 12. We all agree that the best part of our... more

we stayed here may 05 for about a week visiting a friend in the area. the place is an historic site and is really neat with a pretty garden, but it's in a location that is "off the beaten path" - it's a highway drive away (15 minutes) from downtown ABQ, and there is really nothing except some gigantic churches... more

We escaped after two nights to another B&B...we were going to stay four. This is an awesome place and has so much history, yet it is not being cared for at all. The folks managing the place aren't the owners. They are nice, but don't seem to have any investment in it...it's just a job for them. The door to... more

My husband have learned a thing or two about B&B's from staying at the HA in Albuquerque. First, The Bed was beyond horribly uncomfortable. We had to put our down comforter under the sheet to get some cushion. The train that blares by 4-5 times a night is not mentioned on the website, believe me! The breakfast schedule was erratic... more

I have been coming to Hacienda Antigua since 1998 and I love it. Staying here is such a treat for me. The gardens are my favorite part -- they're so peaceful -- perfect for reading or relaxing. I've grilled out at the pool in the past, too. The owners are very nice and make a wonderful breakfast. It's rare to... more
