I was hesitant to write this review, as the Hermit Park Open Space cabins are so wonderful, I almost want them to remain a well-kept secret. But I have gotten so much good info on this site, I felt I had to share.

Hermit Park offers a huge expanse of quiet and solitude. Estes Park can be very busy in the summer, and I wanted peace and quiet. I got it! I booked the Aspen cabin, which features two full-sized beds (bunks). it is completely isolated--away from everybody. There's propane, for lights, a two-burner cook stove, and a lovely pot-bellied fireplace. You can also eat outside, using the picnic table and fire pit. In July, hiking trails will be completed here. Right now, you are only allowed in on weekends, but that will change once trail construction is completed. There is so much wonderful habitat right outside your door, we didn't need to drive into town or the National Park.
