I was in Estes Park for an October wedding and was travelling by myself. The Appenzell could not have been any nicer from the lady that took our reservations to the room itself. The room I stayed in was small but considering that I was travelling alone did not present a problem. The room was very clean and had a... more

Small hotel. Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. One mile to town, a few to Rocky Mountain National Park. Suite, rooms, indoor pool all very clean, nice, but on the small side. Kitchenette lacks conventional oven and stove but has fridge, micro, dishwasher, sink, all utensils, cups and plates. Has a hot plate which was ok for pancakes. Lovely views.... more

My husband and I have stayed here twice now - once during our wedding two years ago, and again just last month. They kept our names in their system, and offered us a discount this time around - what a pleasant surprise. Love the rooms - quiet, quaint and non-smoking. The location is perfect for access to town or for... more

This hotel is very unique, reminds you of a Switzerland getaway. The rooms were large, and nice included a kitchenette, jacuzzi tub, comfortable bed. There are also gas grills available if you wanted to grill outside on the large common deck. Close to catch the shuttle which is free. Great views. more

At the end of a 2 week road trip this was a great place to stay. We had a two bedroom suite - 2 doubles, bathroom, lounge, dining area and kitchen - and a view of the rockies to die for! The hotel is just outside town (which is very busy so this is an ideal location). The owners and... more

Stopped on a whim because it looked cute... gentleman (owner?) was very nice, accommodating and helpful... room was one of their cheapest but very nice - had a queen bed, and a twin murphy bed (we didn't use it)... huge bathroom for a motel-type room (although room was way nicer than most motel rooms)... very clean -spotless in fact... feels... more

The manager came out of the office and watched us every time we pulled up, very uncomfortable. The third time she saw that my kids had cotton candy with them and she said they couldn't have it in the room because it was too messy. The rooms have kitchenettes in them. We told her we would go stay some where... more

We've stayed at the Appenzell a few times now and have loved it both times. It's a little gem hidden away in the middle of lots of commercial motels. The grounds are really well taken care of and the hotel rooms are lovely and spotless. The little rooms that are considered the economy rooms are just that, rather small, but... more

We stayed at the Appenzell for 4 nights and loved it. The room was very clean. The bed was awesome (firm but not hard). The tub was a great bonus since we were there snow shoeing in RMNP. The fireplace was on a timer so it made it convenient to turn it on and forget about it. LIttle things made... more

I stayed here for a few nights and was very satisfied. The room was newer, with an excellent bed and new bathroom. It was off-season, and their rates were very reasonable. I would definitely return. more
