I drove into Estes Park with no reservation, during peak season and felt extremely lucky to have found this place. Very reasonably priced for what you get. It is a charming motor lodge with a few options for rooms. The property has a fishing pond, is right next to the golf course and a short walk to the Estes lake... more

We had a small family reunion, 14 people, and we rented the Heritage House & the Luxury Cabin. It was perfect, the two cabins are in walking distance so everyone could go back and forth between the 2. We had 3 children & 1 teenager and they kept busy riding bikes, playing horse shoes etc... The cabins were spotless and... more

I stayed in the private cabin at Discovery Lodge with 3 friends and 2 dogs and we LOVED it. The cabin itself is separate from the lodge; it's up the road just a bit from the hotel. We found the lodge clean, with comfortable furnishings. There are two bedrooms that are about the same size, with comfortable beds. The bathroom... more

My husband and I and our two small dogs stayed here for 3 days during our trip to Colorado. The room we had was nice and clean, with a balcony and great view. Ther were plenty of places to walk our dogs and we saw Elk from our balcony every day. The people who worked there were very nice and... more

My stay at the Discovery Lodge worked out great for what I needed... good location, clean rooms, and accommodate pets. The staff was friendly and the price was right. I'm not in a hotel room much when on vacation, except to sleep, so this worked perfectly for my needs. I will stay there again. more

My husband and I have stayed at the Discovery Lodge every other year for our trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. It is a lovely motel with very spacious rooms with views, it is always clean and comfortable and you can't beat the prices. The staff is very friendly and sociable and we've seen the same two people there for... more

This is an old moldy hotel with outdated fixtures and no air-conditioning. It has not been maintained or updated in any way. The front desk's solution to air conditioning is a fan but that is little relief when it is in the 90s and if you brought a pet. The air does not circulate. My room was musty smelling and... more

We picked Discovery Lodge out of the Estes Park accommodations book that is published because the pictures were great, and they accommodate pets. We did have a rustic small cabin which served it's purpose for sleep, but didn't enjoy the evening. The staff was nice, However we had a two bedroom suite separated by a bathroom. One person in our... more

Following extensive research through phone calls and online for our June 2006 family vacation to Colorado, we settled on staying two nights in a "luxury" cabin in Estes Park. Having four young children (ages 5, 7, 9 and 12) means that sleeping arrangements are important for our family when on vacation. That was part of the appeal of a cabin... more
