While our overall experience at the Mowry Nicholson house was positive, there were several points that were disappointing. First, the neighborhood is seedy. The immediate block is fine, but if you go one or two streets down, it's hardly a place where you want to vacation. Secondly, I ws assured that they were within walking distance of Providence Place. I have stayed at Mowry several times, but this is my first review. I love the staff and the atmosphere. It's a great place to stay if you want to be catered to and feel "at home". I will always stay at the Inn when I visit Providence. You should too! more

We had just entered Providence by car, stopped for gas at the Capital Exxon on Smith Street, and asked the congenial staff to just point towards an area that had motels. We just had 3 rooms over Memorial Day Weekend at the Mowry Nicholson for various family members for the Brown Graduation weekend.
