Stayed for a couple of nights after flying into Boston and wanting somewhere close by. Located in quiet street close to centre and Salem's attractions. Looked after by the owners in their clean and comfortable home. Not disappointed in anyway. Nicely prepared breakfasts and large bedroom etc. Cannot say much more but a happy experience at the start of a... more

Ada and Don have been running their B&B for many years and it shows. They know what they need to do and what they don't need to do, and it leaves them free to be relaxed, happy, flexible and helpful hosts. They are clearly committed to Salem's success as a tourist destination and keen to make sure visitors get good... more

This was my husband and my first experience at a bed and breakfast. Wow, how awesome. The room and bathroom was spacious and spotlessly clean. The house itself is beautiful and historic. The location is perfect and you can walk to every attraction in Salem or take the ferry to Boston. Ada and Donald are wonderful hosts, friendly, charming and... more

Spent 3 nights at the Amelia Payson in June of 2008 and had a fantastic stay. The B&B is situated on a residential street, just a block away from the large park in Salem and walking distance from everything in Salem. It is also not too far (walking distance) from the Commuter Rail station. You can take the commuter rail... more

I can only repeat what other reviewers have said - this was a lovely property in an excellent location. We walked to everything. Our room and bath were large, beautifully decorated and clean. The breakfasts were very enjoyable, and Ada and Don made us feel very comfortable. more

We stayed there the 9th, 10th, and 11th of June of this year. On the 10th I went and turned 40. Frankly, I planned my vacation to cheer me up. This was a wonderful place to stay. Our room was clean, pretty, well-appointed, and quiet -- no noises from the other rooms. We had plans and tours so we never... more

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights (6/11 and 6/12). This was our first trip to Salem as well as our first B&B, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our hosts - Ada & Donald were the best hosts, answered what questions we had and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The accomodations were excellent - we... more

We loved the location! We were able to park the car on the side street, and just leave it, and walk everyplace in Salem! Ada and Don were wonderful hosts and the breakfast was fantastic. Ada made heart shaped waffles lst morning, then a wonderful quiche the next, always with piping hot coffee, and fresh fruit! The room was so... more

We expected the usual Bed & Breakfast stay, but the house was beautifully decorated with period antiques that you felt you were transported back in time. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well equipped with everyday necessities. The house was lovely and we were pleasantly surprised with the family style breakfast of adorable heart-shaped waffles, fresh fruit, pastries and... more

We had an awesome experience staying at this B&B, the room was beautiful and perfectly maintained. The hosts Don and Ada were wonderful, they were friendly, gracious and very helpful to us. We very much enjoyed our morning conversations with them and the other guests over breakfast. The location is great and attractions are within walking distance. We would absolutely... more
